One of our newest traditions is the elf on the shelf. We get a visit every December from our assigned elf, Annie. She checks on how things are going with our kids and reports back to the North Pole every night while everyone is sleeping.
Our little elf is not of the mischievous variety that might be seen in other households. Instead, she moves to a new location, giving our son a chance to try and locate her and sometimes receiving a clue about what we might be doing that day.
But generally she just hangs out for the day sitting among our holiday decorations and reminding us that we should continue to be kind. You never know who is watching…
