Christmas movies are one of our family’s favorite traditions. Usually we watch one of these movies on any free and evening and a couple on the weekends. For the weekend before Christmas (or Christmas Eve), we have an entire movie marathon, watching all our most treasured in the collection.
Adding this movie tradition was not hard for our family as Mr. Mingo always watched movies growing up, as had my family when we were younger. The movie marathon with a new idea to me as his mom had always locked herself in her room to wrap all the Christmas presents in one day while watching a movie marathon of the Christmas Carol. Hubby also has a hard time declaring it the Christmas season until after he’s watched National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation a time or two. In fact, it’s become a staple and we’re constantly making references to the movie throughout the season!
We also check out the newest additions to Netflix or Hulu. It’s a great way to see other movies and shows that we don’t already own.
Anyways, here’s a list of most of our favorites:
- The Polar Express
- Christmas Eve on Sesame Street
- Muppet Christmas Carol
- Santa Claus is Coming to Town
- White Christmas
- National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
- Miracle on 34th Street
